In the Grand Tradition of This Blog: Marshmallows, Happy Dances, and NEWS

So, exciting news time.

(It’s been awhile since I’ve said that, hasn’t it?)

DIVERGENT film rights sold to Summit Entertainment!

(From here.)

Yes, Summit: of Twilight and The Hurt Locker fame.

And I’m crazy-excited! My experience with the people at Summit has been very positive so far—I think they have a great vision for the book, one that is close to my own. I also think they’re no strangers to taking risks, which is important to me. (coughDauntlesscough)

None of this would have happened if not for the amazing Pouya Shahbazian (“my film rep guy,” as I sometimes call him). He worked so hard to make this happen and I’m so appreciative—and so happy he’ll be involved with developing the film.

What This Does Not Mean: Instant movie! BAM! BRING ON THE ACTION FIGURES AND THE DIVERGENT THEMED HALLOWEEN CANDY!

What This Does Mean: Many wonderful people will be working hard to bring a movie to fruition. I will wait patiently and see what happens. (Okay, that’s a lie. I will wait impatiently and see what happens.)

I think this calls for a happy dance.

And some mini marshmallows.
